The Bump is looking for a Product leader to help transform the leading pregnancy and baby platform for future growth. The Bump serves millions of expecting and new parents each year, and we have charted a user first strategy that will unlock growth. We need a Product leader that will set our product vision, establish a long term roadmap, lead a talented team and partner with high performing build, marketing and editorial teams to drive success.
Your requirements will be:
Own the long term product vision and roadmap for The Bump by engaging with senior leaders, assessing user insights and market trends and aligning to overall business objectives.
Own definition of and execution against Product OKRs by orchestrating efforts across our Build team
Be a strong people leader who can motivate a team and bring out the best in everyone. You provide your team guidance and feedback so that they are always working on the most important problems and approaching those problems in the best ways
Engage with senior leaders to align on strategy and key decisions
Drive vision while ensuring operating success: (e.g. SEO, team culture)
Create a system of iteration and learning to generate incremental success on key product features while building toward the future
Bring emerging technologies like Generative AI, Machine Learning and home grown innovations to market by meeting unmet user needs
Have an expert understanding of product/market fit
Ability to create hypotheses for strategic growth areas and knowledge of how to test into them.
Can assess impact of key product features with data available
You regularly seek out, analyze, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data
You effectively communicate to your team, senior leadership, and the broader organization
SUCCESSFUL SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT CANDIDATES HAVE:
15+ years in product development, in an agile environment addressing consumer needs.. Start-up or growth stage experience a plus. Experience in e-commerce (platforms, marketplaces, or retail) is also a plus
You showcase a user first mind-set and ability to drive insights and user empathy that scales across the team
You can create journey based experiences that delight users in partnership with UX team members; product marketing experience and/or mindset is a plus.
You can set strategic direction at the 3-year, 1-year, and quarterly timeframes
You can provide the leadership, guidance, and feedback that helps your team ideate and launch new products and improve existing ones.
You always refer to quantitative and qualitative data in making product decisions and have experience with analytics and research tools + methods and comfort with analytical tools
You have a track record of creating quality consumer experiences that solve real user needs and drive business growth
You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with your partners and executives
You have keen aesthetics and empathy, and a user-centered mentality
You're a strong partner to your cross functional teammates across engineering, design, data, business, and marketing.
You're a natural prioritizer, have great instincts when it comes to what matters, and have made tough but smart trade-offs.
You care about Outcomes over Outputs - goals matter more than the roadmap - and you think about roadmaps in terms of hypotheses not features.
