The Sempere Lab in the Campus-wide Precision Health Program at Michigan State University is seeking a Research Assistant I to be a key part of our research team as an animal research technologist. The NIH-funded Sempere Lab is expanding and looking for a talented individual to join a dynamic and cooperative group with undergraduate and graduate students, medical students, radiology residents, and lab technicians. The Sempere Lab investigates various aspects of the pathophysiology of the breast and pancreas with a focus on cancer prevention and treatment. The Sempere Lab uses a multi-disciplinary approach, including molecular biology and cellular biology studies to genetic engineering of animal models of breast cancer and pancreatic cancer. These studies focus on microRNA's role within specific cellular compartments of tumor microenvironment, and molecular pathology. We are using innovative tissue-based multiplex ISH/IHC assays to implement diagnostics applications of microRNA biomarkers in a clinical setting.
