The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Vermont is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer, with duties to start in August of 2024.
The applicant must have an earned M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related area, a strong teaching record, and the ability to teach a variety of Statistics courses effectively. Prior experience teaching statistics is essential, and prior experience or willingness to teach in hybrid or online formats is a plus. Prior experience teaching undergraduate-level statistics is highly desirable, as is prior experience or willingness to teach using active learning and project-based methods.


The successful candidate will be expected to teach a typical course load (4 courses) during each of two semesters per year. A modest amount of service and academic advising is also expected. There is no research-related workload associated with this position. The appointment period is nine months per year, but opportunities for teaching additional summer courses may be available for additional compensation.
