Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Arthrex Engineering Development team is actively seeking a Sr. Manager - Engineering for the Imaging & Resection division. This Sr. Manager role will be p lan and direct the engineering activities of the department within the organization. They will coordinate full product lifecycle of medical devices to achieve company goals building upon the current product lines and lead new development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience within the medical device industry, experience with full lifecycle product development and a strong business acumen. Excellent interpersonal and technical skills, five years or more of related product development experience, three years or more of management experience and a bachelor's degree in Engineering will be required for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages the engineering department work activities to provide timely and efficient flow of services and projects.


• Maintains a leading edge understanding of the orthopedic industry, customers, and competitors in order to find new and novel opportunities to grow the business and reduce cost.


• Hires, develops, and retains the best talent for the engineering team and the organization.


• Assesses new technology and new product ideas for technical and economic feasibility.


• Evaluates and develops improved techniques for the control of product development activities.


• Develops and oversees the development of budgets and timelines for new product projects.


• Leads multifunctional new product project teams through the project lifecycle, adhering closely to project timeline and budget.


• Reports progress and status of projects on a timely basis with emphasis on reporting results


• Provides engineering advice and assistance to other departments as required.


• Up to 20% travel required.

Education/ Experience:

• BS in Engineering


• 5+ years of relevant experience within Medical Device industry.


• 3+ years of experience in a manager level role

Guidance and Task Assignment:

Assignments are received in task and objective oriented terms.

Provides direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance.

Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Supervision Level:

Manages the coordination of the activities of a workgroup or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and employees.

Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors or through employees.

Discretion / Latitude:

Functions as an advisor to a team or department regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.
