Description


SUMMARY


The University of Silicon Valley is seeking a subject matter expert in computer science/software development area to support the students and undergraduate program in Software Development and Game Engineering. Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science or a closely related area. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience teaching on-ground and online courses and program development in various areas of Computer Science.
The position is offered on a trimester-by-trimester contract basis. Continuation of employment is subject to review and renewal at the end of each semester.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Advise students regarding program paths and provide career mentorship.
Participate in Admission events.
Conduct 25% of class observations and provide feedback to faculty in conjunction with the Department Director.
Assist the Department Director in Program Learning Outcomes assessment and assessment report.
Conduct a meeting with Industry Advisory Board members.
Other reasonable tasks determined by the Provost or Department Director related to program development.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:

Master's degree in a related field terminal degree preferred.





EXPERIENCE:

Experience in teaching and/or facilitating professional development in a specific content area
Experience in developing a course in either on-ground or online modality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Learning Management Systems (Canvas)

WORKING CONDITIONS


This job operates in a professional office environment with people interaction. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and office machines. The employee will be requested to log hours worked in a system provided by the institution and track individual task assignments in another tool.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods; use hands and reach with hands and arms for such activities as keyboarding.
