Job Description:

Lake Research Partners (LRP), a leading Democratic public opinion research and political consulting firm, seeks qualified and experienced candidates for a full-time Senior Research Analyst position to work with political candidates and progressive issue clients. The Senior Research Analyst will report directly to one of the LRP's partners and serve as a member of the partner-led teams. The ideal candidate will have political experience and a background in opinion research and be highly detail-oriented with the proven ability to follow through on assignments.

LRP team members serve as senior advisors to a wide range of advocacy groups, labor unions, non-profits, state and federal government agencies, companies and foundations, and numerous elected officials at all levels of the government.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Leading a team in designing and executing new projects
  • Creating questionnaires, reports, proposals, and memos for clients
  • Representing the firm with clients, delivering presentations, and managing client relationships
  • Designing survey and focus group materials
  • Training and overseeing junior and associate analysts while reviewing their work
  • Providing support for marketing needs as directed
  • Attending external events of interest to the team and firm

Applicants Must:

  • Be organized, diligent, and responsible and able to juggle a range of different tasks simultaneously
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well under tight deadlines
  • Be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments
  • Be able to effectively operate with minimal oversight, manage a team, and delegate tasks
  • Show sound judgment and discretion
  • Show good customer relationship and follow-up skills

Preferred Skills:

  • A high level of political acumen
  • A background in or understanding of data analysis
  • 5-7 years of experience in an office setting
  • Experience designing, conducting, and analyzing opinion research
  • Experience in leadership, management, and oversight
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • A commitment to the progressive movement and to social, economic, and racial justice
