Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented and collaborative administrator enthusiastic about our mission to ignite our community's passion for nature and science? We’re looking for someone excited about creating inclusive and welcoming environments to be the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s inaugural Equity Coordinator. Overseen by the Director of the Office of Equity, this position is responsible for assisting the Office of Equity in coordinating Equity projects and initiatives, such as educational programs for internal staff, engaging staff in awareness campaigns, serving as a liaison for our Equity Council and Equity Groups committees as well as for all employees.

As our Equity Coordinator, you’ll function as a connector to facilitate progress on our Infusion Inclusion Roadmap Projects within the Museum, working closely with a large variety of departments and internal stakeholders to ensure everyone has the chance to be part of creating a more inclusive and welcoming Museum for all.

Job Class: Full Time

Hiring Range: $26.00/Hour


Essential Duties & Responsibilities 


  • Provides support to the Office of Equity by acting as public interface, scheduling meetings and coordinating events and programs. 

  • Connects and facilitates Inclusion Infusion Roadmap initiatives within departments around the Museum.

  • Serves as a resource to support and embed DEAI throughout the organization.  

  • Coordinates communication materials and meeting schedules.

  • Updates Inclusion@DMNS HUB page with Inclusion resources, upcoming news and events, and other materials.

  • Provides support to staff by ordering supplies, assisting with travel arrangements, maintaining calendars, submitting expenses.

  • Coordinates special events training, organization-wide meetings, and other employee-based initiatives.


Required Minimum Qualifications 


  • 3 years’ experience providing administrative support including summary analytics for metrics.

  • 1 years’ experience in organizational DEAI work required, including having served on or been part of an Employee Resource Group or other employee-led DEAI affinity group.

  • Some evening/night/weekend work as needed.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and web enabled applications.

  • Skilled communicator and mediator who has demonstrated success in forging consensus between individuals and communities with divergent views.

  • Ability to comfortably present in front of large audiences (virtually and/or in person).

  • An interest and passion for equity and inclusion.

  • A focus on the big picture and the small-scale steps required to help us all get there.
