Overview
The Benefits Director plays a vital role in ensuring the company provides a best-in-class benefits delivery experience to their team members. The Benefits leader is responsible for planning, implementing and administering the company's benefits in full compliance with, and accordance with: company policy, the provisions of the plan documents, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA and other entities. The Benefits leader will ensure programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost-effective. This role develops benefits communication and counsels employees on benefits-related issues. You will work closely on significant benefit matters with the leadership team to establish and develop best practices within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all compliance requirements are met
Explain, interpret, and answer complex questions regarding medical, dental, vision, disability, life, flexible spending plans, wellness program, health savings program, COBRA, HRIS, workers' compensation, and FMLA to employees
Recommend benefits programs to management by studying employee requirements and trends and developments in benefits offered by other organizations
Operate as the main contact with third party administrators, carriers, vendors, brokers, and providers
Review and maintain all benefit documents (Summary Plan Description, Plan Documents, Summary of Benefits and Coverage, etc.)
Design and lead the annual Open Enrollment process, including needed changes/updates in the HRIS system
Responsible for accurate communication of benefits data to vendors
Investigate and analyze complex claims and enrollment issues
Communicate clearly and effectively through multiple formats to individual and firmwide audiences
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Responsible for complying with all related state and federal laws and regulations, and firm policies and procedures applicable to the position
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or other related fields
5 years or more of experience in a similar role
Experience, knowledge, and training in benefits administration, and related state and federal laws and regulations
