The Check Supervisor provides guidance, direction, and work distribution to an assigned group of employees including collectors and/or coordinators/administrators. Assists and responds to the most difficult check collector issues. A Check Supervisor does not have a fully assigned portfolio of collection/delinquent items.

Major Responsibilities
  • Supervises a team of Check Collector employees; monitors, evaluates, and scores employee performance in the areas of items/cases worked, cash, cash %, overall collections, call volume, account reviews, and QA averages.
  • Guides, reviews, and initiates workflow and ensures compliance within the company policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a senior resource for the department, addressing issues and questions cross departmentally.
  • Maintains spreadsheets on tracking data, account reviews, and monitors for quality.
  • Successfully completes FDCPA/UDAAP interactive training and testing on an annual basis.
  • Documents and notates cases of collection activity and content.
  • Provides input to management regarding departmental personnel issues.
  • Provides guidance and training for employees.
  • Works as a liaison between the Collections department and other departments within the company.
  • Completes various daily, monthly, and weekly reporting to management as required.
  • Completes data analysis and tracking for collections data including ACH's and re-deposits in the department.
  • Evaluates employee assignments and assists in assigning centers to collectors.
  • Reviews legal and law enforcement referrals and submits to the Check Cashing Support, Forgery, or Legal team.
  • Works assigned returned items as required by supervisor
  • Assists supervisor directly with the Forgery and Legal Collection Team.
  • Assists in end of month processing as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent training. Requires a minimum of five years of related collections and collections supervisory experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Possess general computer skills including AS400
  • Must have a strong level of expertise regarding Word and Excel
  • Ability to operate automated collection system

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. This position might require after hours and weekend work.
