The KPFF Sacramento office is located in Roseville, just 18 miles from Downtown Sacramento. Job Overview

KPFF Sacramento has an opportunity for an experienced Land Surveyor with a strong focus on land development to train to become the department head. As a Land Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in supervising/conducting surveys and providing precise data for the planning, design, and development of various land development projects. We are looking for a self-motivated individual that is ready to take the next step in running their own survey department.

Collaboration is at the heart of our work, and as a Land Surveyor, you will closely work with our skilled engineering teams, project managers, and clients to gather essential information for successful site development. You will also play a key role in analyzing survey data, performing complex calculations, and creating comprehensive reports, offering valuable insights that shape the direction of our projects. As well as business/client development.

Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise / conduct detailed land surveys using advanced instruments for accurate mapping
  • Supervise preparation of plats, legal descriptions, and topographic maps adhering to industry standards
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to gather essential data for site development projects
  • Supervise / perform construction staking and layout surveys for project development
  • Analyze survey data and create comprehensive reports
  • Lead and oversee surveying team members
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities
  • Stay updated on emerging surveying technologies and best practices
  • Analyze survey markets looking for new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification
  • At least ten years of survey experience in land and site development projects
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques and practices
  • Proficiency in operating advanced surveying instruments and software
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain within six months
  • Project management skills
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
