The Opportunity

"We are seeking a director to lead the technical development of an analytic decisioning platform. You will be leading a highly energetic team of software engineers to create the next generation software platform for FICO's software transaction analytics capabilities. This role involves leading backend and frontend engineering teams responsible for transactional processing of high-volume low latency decisioning and analytics execution. These capabilities embody patented and unique market value that drives critical business value in a high growth area. What You'll Contribute
  • Work with stakeholders to comprehend and provide feedback on requirements for your software platform capability.
  • Collaborate with product managers to understand priorities and usage scenarios of product features.
  • Collaborate with user experience personnel to understand personas within usage scenarios.
  • Provide leadership to your team for positive customer outcomes, aligned autonomy, a spirit of innovation, a bias for action, clear & transparent communication, community of trust, and commitment to move forward together.
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to ensure the entire software platform is a success.
  • Continuously improve engineering practices for the software platform to support efficiency, reliability, and serviceability goals.
  • Foster a learning culture, coach leaders and engineers for excellence in their roles, and recruit top talent for your teams.
  • Participate in prospect/customer meetings on technology topics.

What We're Seeking
  • Experience designing, building, deploying, and operating commercial software that provides a composable platform executing in low milliseconds.
  • Skilled in operating a critical runtime component that uses observability to diagnose root cause.
  • Experience leading software teams developing in Typescript, Java and C++.
  • Experience building low-code/no-code platforms, compilers and/or code generation tools.
  • Ability to plan and drive your team to an end state that is based on simplicity, modern software design patterns, open-source software, and cloud environments.
  • Ability to perform any of the engineering tasks done by your team.
  • Technical expertise across all deployment models on public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Skilled with domain-driven, event-driven, and microservice architectures.
  • Proficient in building, tracking, and communicating plans within agile processes.
  • Capable of coaching/mentoring individuals and teams.
  • Experience with supporting production software deployments.
  • Proficient with commercial software product processes.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in delivering and managing commercial software for multiple public cloud technologies is a plus, e.g., AWS, Google, Azure.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and its ecosystem is nice to have.

  • The targeted base pay range for this role is: $147,000 to $231,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
