Project Engineer - Process - Topeka, KS The Project Engineer - Process is responsible for the design and installation of processing equipment projects. The Project Engineer is an active member of the Engineering community, process engineering team, the local engineering team, and assigned project team(s). The Project Engineer is responsible for deploying his/her engineering know-how to successfully execute and deliver projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage.
What are we looking for?
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or >10 year's experience in a technical manufacturing field;
Skills/Experience:
2+ years' experience in a comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable
Experience in executing and supporting capital projects
Demonstrated ability to manage consulting engineering firms as well as mechanical and electrical installation contractors in a factory environment.
Understanding of engineering principles
Prior knowledge and experience in food safety and clean design a plus
Strong communication, listening, and influencing skills
20%-50% travel requirement dependent on project assignments
What would be your key responsibilities?
Provide innovative Process Engineering solutions that drive a competitive advantage
Ensure delivery of scope, timeline, budget, and cash flow for all assigned engineering projects in accordance with the Mars Engineering Work Process (EWP)
Accurately scope and estimate capital projects that are technically feasible and meet business objectives
Communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders and other functions (Operations, R&D, Quality, Commercial, Finance) to ensure capital project objectives are clearly defined and achieved.
Key member and contributor of the CVS (Commission, Validation, Start-up) Team
Effectively lead, monitor and improve a safe work environment
