Job Description:

Edelman is looking for a superior Account Executive to join our Consumer/Brand Team supporting a global food & beverage account and others. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented, collaborative, a problem solver at heart, has strong media relations and storytelling skills and is well-versed in digital/social media. Experience with food-related accounts and on-site events and media experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:


    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the public relations industry and its basic principles

    • Understand key client information, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors

    • Provide client service administration, including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media and competitor coverage, coordinating media outreach and press tours, scheduling and logistics

    • Research, outline, write, edit, and proofread materials, including press materials, scripts, newsletter articles, awards, and social media content

    • Support planning and execution for earned media strategies, inclusive of research, analysis of media coverage and online conversations, and integration with support agencies

    • Assist with research, including analysis of media coverage and online conversations

    • Demonstrate a general knowledge of media landscape including outlets and reporters, as well as how media outlets are using social media tools and eager to incorporate them into our work

    • Build a network of media and industry influencer contactsand support in media outreach, securing stories, and tracking results

    • Proactively develop and offer fresh story angles to internal account teams and clients

    • Collaborate with creative, influencer, and strategy teams for ideation and to ensure earned angles, as required

    • Manage projects using organizational skills, working with colleagues, vendors, and support agencies, and keeping project leaders apprised of status

    • Help supervise interns/trainees and provide ongoing, constructive feedback

    • Learn about Edelman's various capabilities and contribute ideas about how to improve them and develop new capabilities

    • Participate in the new business process, including research, audits, preparation of proposals, and support for new business pitches

    • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of your technical and leadership skills

    • Demonstrate being a detail-oriented communicator with an energetic presence and entrepreneurial spirit.

    • We are looking for someone media savvy, collaborative, hungry to learn and try/recommend new tactics

Basic Qualifications:


    • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or communications-related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing

    • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:


    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    • Strong research, writing, and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships

    • Proven experience pitching and securing earned stories across online, broadcast, print, and/or social media (food/consumer media a plus!)

    • Positive, collaborative attitude

    • They will have previous agency experience

    • They will have an intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the clients' businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc.

    • They will have a solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals.

    • They also will have solid research, writing, and editing skills and the ability to develop media and influencer contacts/relationships.

    • They are expected to have a fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies.

    • They must be a proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.

    • They have an affinity for storytelling and is able to generate creative ideas, take risks, and think big.

$42,000 - $62,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
