SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative Website and Mobile Strategy Director to join our growing team. This role is responsible for owning the operations, technology, and strategic direction of our website and mobile app. The ideal candidate will excel at working with large teams, be skilled people manager and communicator, and have a strong background in web operations and strategy.

The selected candidate will lead the redesign of aafp.org including a possible platform migration, to better meet the needs of AAFP members and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

Website Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the AAFP website and mobile app, ensuring smooth functioning and optimal user experience.

Technology Management: Manage web and mobile technologies, tools, and platforms, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the AAFP website and mobile app, aligning with organizational goals and initiatives.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, IT, content creators, and external partners to implement web and mobile projects and initiatives.

People Management: Lead and mentor a team of web content managers, user experience designer, and SEO strategist, fostering a culture of collaboration, empathy, and continuous improvement.

Performance Monitoring: Analyze website and mobile app performance metrics, conduct regular audits, and implement optimizations to enhance user engagement and conversion rates.

Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a robust security infrastructure.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology, communications, marketing, or related area (or through equivalent work experience), plus a minimum of six (6) years related work experience.

Required skills for success include:

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale website projects and teams, including the development of new and/or redesign of new websites.
  • Strong knowledge of web and mobile technologies, UX/UI design principles, SEO and ecommerce best practices.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communications, collaboration, and leadership skills
