REQUIREMENT

Arctos Technology Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer for its Aerospace Safety and Risk Analysis (ASRA) group, to help deliver our state-of-the-art flight safety solutions through the cloud, and in particular to ensure we do it in a secure manner.

We’re a small team, and we’re looking for passionate leaders at every position, even in non-management positions like this one. Successful candidates will be those who lead by example, are pragmatic in approach, and excellent communicators.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a hands-on role in which you will be expected to help build and integrate our tools with AWS cloud infrastructure, but we’d like someone with the experience and drive to help define and implement security and engineering practices broadly. In addition to the technical work, you’ll help collate and document how what we’ve done meets the security requirements of our users.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Required

• Demonstrated experience deploying native applications in the AWS cloud using AppStream, Batch, Lambdas and other AWS services in consistent, repeatable, and documented ways.
• Demonstrated experience working with the full DevOps lifecycle (building applications, deploying applications, maintaining applications).
• Experience working with and meeting US Government security standards (NIST 800-53, DOD CC SRG, RMF) and working with related US DOD systems (eMASS)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain and retain a US security clearance.

Preferred

• A passion and curiosity for new technology and a desire to apply it to real world problems.
• Demonstrated ability as generalist who can flexibly work with multiple programming languages (C#, Go, Python, JS are ones we like) and technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, message queues)
• Experience working in a research and development (R&D), innovation-focused setting.
• Experience working with the US government, especially in ISSO/ISSM roles.
• Security related certifications (e.g. CISSP, CAP, GSLC, GIAC, CSAP+, CISM)

EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field, or at least 10 years directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and retain a US security clearance.

PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• This position will be remote, preferably in the Los Angeles area.

TRAVEL

• Travel is not anticipated, but if performed will be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
