Position Summary:

Assists the hiring managers and search committees in the recruitment and selection of new employees and internal applicants for open positions. Has general responsibility to implement and record participation of the employee professional development and training. General assistance in the HR office.


Reporting and Supervisory Relationships:

Reports directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources.


Essential Responsibilities:



  1. Coordinates full recruiting cycle; i.e. background checks, informing candidates of status, etc. Works with hiring managers to prepare position descriptions, define qualifications and requirements.

  2. Prepares employment advertisements and postings.

  3. Assists search committee chairs in scheduling interviews.

  4. Manages all approval and tracking forms associated with the hiring process including interview questions and approvals.

  5. Responds to inquiries regarding position vacancies and searches.

  6. Verifies the diversification of applicant pools for review.

  7. Completes applicable reports; local, state and others. This includes, but not limited to unemployment claims, HFS, and others.

  8. Represents the College at job fairs and other recruitment activities as requested.

  9. Administers appropriate testing of candidates as required for positions.

  10. Prepares weekly Staffing Reports for Cabinet.

  11. Maintains all job descriptions including making approved changes, edits and updates as necessary.

  12. Schedules out- of- town candidates for interviews; including scheduling lodging, car rental, and flight reservations when needed and processes any applicable reimbursements.

  13. Instructs new and existing employees in the proper use and timing of the on-line training programs and tracks and monitors employee completion of training programs and updates the training platform as necessary.

  14. Processes unemployment claims.

  15. Represents the College at unemployment compensation hearings.

  16. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the department, consistent with the role of this position.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


Minimum Qualifications:



  1. Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.

  2. Two years of demonstrated human resources generalist experience, including recruitment.

  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to the details associated with tracking a large volume of résumés and applicants, forms, and correspondence through the recruitment process.

  4. Strong computer skills.

  5. Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.


Preferred Qualifications:



  1. Experience working in a community college.

  2. Proficiency with social media recruiting.

  3. Experience with PeopleAdmin.


Anticipated Work Hours and Days:

Monday through Friday; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm


Salary:

minimum starting-$42,735; salary commensurate with experience
