About the role:
As a Legal Contract Analyst, you will fulfill a vital role within TQL’s Legal Department, as a subject-matter-expert ensuring all transportation contracts maximize business opportunities while minimizing risk to TQL.

What you'll be doing:
Support sales and support teams by analyzing, revising and negotiating all customer, vendor, real estate and carrier contracts
Review, revise, and negotiate contracts in order to meet TQL’s established risk tolerance levels - these contracts may include, without limitation, customer contracts, carrier contracts, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other contract related documents
Communicate the status of contract negotiations and revisions with members of other teams; including sales, carrier services, operational sales, legal, purchasing, IT and sales management
Conduct research on transportation contracting trends and applicable clauses
Proactively consider and recommend terms for various types of contracts
Attend and participate in training conducted or recommended by TQL attorneys
Produce reports, feedback, surveys, and negotiation notes requested by TQL attorneys
What you need:
Bachelor’s degree required
Exemplary attention to detail
Exceptional analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of the internet for business, contractual and legal research
Basic understanding of common contractual provisions, e.g. indemnification, termination, insurance, venue selection, governing law and limitation of liability
Excellent understanding of the transportation and freight industry
Basic understanding of cargo claims, the CARMACK Amendment, bills of lading, risk to freight brokers under the theories of vicarious liability and negligent hiring/selection
