Assistant Circulation Supervisor
Salary: $39,528 - $56,620Classification: Library & Paraprofessional 3Reports to: Circulation Supervisor
Olympic College is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Circulation Supervisor this position will work evenings and weekends in the Haselwood Library circulation department on the Bremerton campus. This is the senior or specialist level of the series, working under general direction and applying senior level knowledge and skills. This position may occasionally travel to the Poulsbo and Shelton campuses.Essential Functions



  • Recommends changes and improvements of unit routines or procedures; evaluates and monitors work processes.

  • Responsible for ensuring scheduling and staffing of service points.

  • Supervise, lead, train and direct the work of lower-level staff, student employees, volunteers, or interns.

  • Provides input into the development and implementation of area policies.

  • Performs circulation functions including resolution of issues and recommending fine waivers.

  • Oversees opening, closing and monitoring of facility.

  • Analyze and resolve order problems and maintain and update internal records using complex automated systems.

  • Assist or instruct patrons or other staff with use of library systems such as the Integrated Library System, Interlibrary loan system, course reserve system; Online Computer Library Center (OCLC)

  • Consults with faculty about course reserve needs, digitizes and upload materials into course management or reserves system, creates persistent links to resources for course reserves.

  • Designs training documents and resources

  • Manages the resource sharing systems, runs and analyzes reports, keeps abreast of system updates, troubleshoots and resolves problems.

  • Create materials, programs and events that introduce and market collections and services to targeted audiences.

  • May supervise, lead, train, and direct the work of lower-level staff, student employees, volunteers, or interns.

Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications



  • High school graduation or equivalent.

  • Three years of experience in the functional operations of a library including an integrated library system and interlibrary loan systems such as OCLC WorldShare.

  • Equivalent education or experience will substitute.

Terms of Employment

This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $39,528 - $56,620. Most classified new hires will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union.
