Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

The School of Business at Texas Southern University is accepting applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Management Science with an emphasis in Operations and Logistics Management. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience instructing students with potential and interest in conducting academic research. The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (PhD or DBA) with a focus in Operations and Logistics Management from a regionally accredited university. This is a 9-month grant-funded visiting position with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels.


This is a Grant Funded position.


Essential Duties Summary:



  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses Operations and Logistics Management.

  • Conduct research that is presentable at professional academic conferences and acceptable for publication in referred academic journals.

  • Active participation in departmental, school and university committees.

  • Service to one's profession and the surrounding community.

  • Advise and mentor students.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:

Commensurate with experience.


Education:

Earned PhD or DBA with an emphasis in Operations and Logistics Management from a regionally accredited university.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge of:

  • Current software and applications in Operations and Logistics Management.

  • Maintain involvement in appropriate professional organizations.


Work Experience:

At least one professional academic presentation or at least one referred journal publication within the past year preferred.


Working/Environmental Conditions:



  • Prolonged standing and/or walking.

  • Handling light weight objects.

  • Using or carrying equipment.
