WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

New Hampshire residents recognize, value, and act to conserve productive and resilient estuarine and marine ecosystems throughout the Gulf of Maine, stabilizing imperiled species and habitats, sustaining biodiversity and marine fisheries, and providing critical services that support our culture, quality of life, and economy. We lead on oyster restoration projects in Great Bay and to date have completed a 37 acre-footprint of reef restoration work. This collaborative restoration work is aimed to restore oyster reefs to improve water quality and provide structural habitat for juvenile fish and invertebrates that are ecologically and economically important to New Hampshire. Through this role, you would gain working knowledge of the Great Bay Estuary, and experience working in the field, collecting data, monitoring, and activities in oyster monitoring, and managing and coordinating the Oyster Conservationist Program. In addition, you would gain knowledge and insight to The Nature Conservancy and our partners with opportunities to network and engage with staff across the state. While we will work with our Coastal Conservation Seasonal to set a schedule that works best for all, this position is proposed at 35 hours/week for approximately 6 months, running from approximately early May - end of October based in your home office (or our Great Bay office located in Newmarket, New Hampshire, should conditions allow) and at the University of New Hampshire Jackson Estuary Laboratory.

The Coastal Conservation Seasonal will assist the Coastal and Marine Program with all aspects of oyster conservation activities. The position reports to the Marine Program Manager
