The Role
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Submarine Fleet Support Work Control Engineering (Mechanical) Technician develops, reviews, and revises as required the execution of Navy Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) and safety tagout documents and specifications to support efficient work execution. Ensure training and qualification on all work control and tagout processes are obtained and maintained. Approves issuance of WAFs, work permits, and safety tagouts for assigned systems. Provides expertise in the development, planning, and scheduling for WAFs, work permits, and safety tagout. Provides on-site resolution of related problems and technical issues to prevent delays and ensure the integrity, safe work and testing, and operation of responsible areas of control.
Must Have
Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience
