Meet the team:



This role will be joining Dexcom's Sensor R&D team responsible for the design and development of improved and novel sensing products.



Where you come in:



  • You will be responsible for providing technical leadership for a sensor design and development program.


  • You will interface between the product core team, engineering management, and the executing technical teams; develop working plans and provide updates on program status and technical risk.


  • You will be responsible for defining the specifications of the sensor design under development in order to meet the product requirements of the program. You'll be expected to work creatively and effectively through design trade-offs and managing technical and timeline risks as the product matures.


  • You will be responsible for ensuring the sensor development project maintains compliance with medical device quality standards and the completion of product design control phase gate deliverables.


  • You will play a vital role in driving and incorporating technical innovation into best in class sensing products aimed at empowering individuals to take control of their health.





What makes you successful:



  • Requires advanced technical knowledge in disciplines of electrochemistry, materials science, bioengineering, chemistry or related field.


  • Requires proven experience in leading design and development project teams. Previous experience commercializing medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech products preferred.


  • Strong analytical skills and well versed in latest methods of data analysis and analysis software, with the ability to construct appropriately powered and designed experiments to characterize sensitivity to critical parameters and noise factors in the function of the sensor design. Applied experience in design for six sigma best practices is preferred.


  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presenting technical material.


  • High level of responsibility and accountability on project outcomes.


  • You can run self-directed projects, project teams, manage timelines, transfer technology and execute projects in a R&D environment.

Experience and Education Requirements:



  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Masters degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience of a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
