Job Description:

Loparex LLC is the world's largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone-coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Iowa City facility has been in operation since 1970 and annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide.


12 hour shift on a compressed work schedule working 3 days one week and 4 the next week, including every other weekend, or on a 12 hour shift working 4 days per week with a rotating day off. One position for days(7am-7pm).


DUTIES

  • Promotes safety by leading by example, participating in safety engagements, and encouraging the team to work safe each day and to follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Abides by all plant safety rules to keep safe and fellow employees safe.
  • Responsible for keeping production machinery operating. Identifies mechanical problems and determines the appropriate repair procedures and initiates requests for parts, as needed.
  • Assists operators with changeovers by calibrating counts, tension settings, changing and threading rolls, changing step, pressure, and chill rolls.
  • Responsible for responding to operators' requests for assistance at the machine.
  • Complies with Lock out/Tag Out and confined space requirements.
  • Operates forklift, platform lift, and sky jack, as needed.
  • Records all activities in the maintenance department log.
  • Checks parts in and out of the CMMS system.
  • Plant Safety involvement with participation in observations and/or committees.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Provides coverage on other shifts as needed.
  • Other duties and special projects assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous maintenance/mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and skill to use a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to weld and use cutting torch.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Solid computer skills to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and CMMS.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and positively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide own tools and toolbox.
  • Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toed shoes.
