Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Civil Estimator to join their team in Pleasanton, California. As a key member of their estimating department, you will play a vital role in accurately assessing the costs and timelines for a variety of heavy civil construction projects. From roads and highways to bridges and utilities, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the successful planning and execution of each project.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
Utilize industry-standard software and tools to perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
Prepare detailed bid packages and proposals, including scope of work, pricing, and schedule considerations.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
5+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, utilities, and infrastructure developments.
Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities, both verbal and written.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
