Seattle City Flag is a non-profit art and culture organization based in Seattle, WA, dedicated to bringing inclusive public art to the city through civic design.

As a 501(c)3 organization, we operate in downtown Seattle, working to build community and connection through our Seattle art history. We donate all profits from our product sales to King County non-profits focused on mitigating regional homelessness.

Role Description

This is a volunteer hybrid role to join the board of Seattle City Flag as the Head of Nonprofit Development

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to secure grant funding from various sources, including government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, donors, and partners to support the organization's goals and initiatives.
  • Lead the organization's efforts in networking and collaborating with other non-profit entities to share resources and best practices.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and donor recognition programs.
  • Represent Seattle City Flag at community events, conferences, and public forums to raise awareness and support for the organization's mission.
  • Guide and mentor staff, fostering an inclusive and productive work environment that encourages growth and development.

Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in annual giving and stewardship
  • Ability to effectively monitor and evaluate programs
  • Experience in nonprofit development and fundraising
  • Knowledge of the Seattle artistic community is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with licensing partnerships and intellectual property is a plus
