RADIOLOGY & IMAGING SCIENCES (IN-RADY-IUINA)



Job Summary



Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Assists with the development of novel radiopharmaceuticals for Positron Emission Tomography (PET).

  • Performs in vitro biochemical assays (e.g. ELISA, Western blot, PCR, flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, etc.) and animal studies (mostly rodents) to support evaluation and validation of novel PET radiopharmaceuticals or novel application of known PET agents.

  • Assists the facility director with training of new personnel and data collection for collaborative research projects.

  • Responsible for conducting the required experiments to meet strict FDA compliance requirements and for detailed documentation of processes and results.

  • Maintains efficient laboratory operations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the laboratory and department.

General Responsibilities


  • Performs moderately complex experiments while following research techniques and procedures.

  • Develops procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership.

  • Prepares research reports or analyses for projects.

  • Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed.

  • May provide guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

Working Conditions / Demands



The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
