The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. We are located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana - the third largest city in the state. The Mt. Join us as a Logistics Specialist in our Operations team, where you will be responsible for coordinating and performing planning activities associated with transportation and logistics. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely processing of domestic and export orders, customers' orders, sample requests, and other third-party requirements and shipments. All these responsibilities are achieved in accordance with Integrated Supply Chain Management strategies while adhering to cGMP, GDP, SHE, FTZ, and SOX regulations.



Accountabilities:

As a Logistics Specialist, you will coordinate activities with third-party warehousing and logistics providers, acting as a focal point for day-to-day issue identification and resolution. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for distribution & logistics activities and be considered a SAP system super user. Your role will involve coordinating with Supply Planning, Global Supply, and Global Logistics and Freight to develop a distribution plan. You will also lead investigations for critical and major deviations associated with the distribution and logistics activities.



Essential Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Management Science, or other relevant discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in various aspects of pharmaceutical operations, supply chain and manufacturing, customer products distribution.
- Ability to draft and edit SOP's, Job Aids, and Work Instructions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Understanding of cGMP's, FDA, GDP, DOT, SOX, hazardous materials transportation requirements as well as familiarity with export and Customs guidelines.



Desirable Skills/Experience:

- SAP experience
- Certifications: CSCP, CPIM, CLTO, etc.
- Lean or Six Sigma training/certification.
- Leadership, Process management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve desired business results.
