Learn more at www.harmonicinc.com. Role DescriptionHarmonic Inc. has developed a virtual CMTS platform to deliver high speed internet (HSI), video and voice for cable TV and telco systems. Harmonic Broadband Professional Services installs this platform and puts it into production with no unscheduled interruption of services. As part of this effort we are rebuilding Comcast headends and converting them to data centers. These headends have been in production for 20+ years and make extensive use of coax RF splitting and combining. We are replacing these networks with fiber, servers and switches. We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Broadband team.You will be based in based in Fairfax, Maryland or Pennsylvania.LocationOn-site This position will be based inbased in Fairfax, Maryland or Pennsylvania.You should have the ability to:

• Audit fiber and coax networks, be able to read and decipher Near - Far labels
• Complete fiber surveys noting Fiber type, color, connector type.
• Perform Commscope and Wirewerks Pre-Term and Patch Panel installations
• Perform umbilical cable bundle(s) testing, scoping, lashing, lacing, running, fish tape usage, and routing/design layout
• Work Transition Box, Chimney, OCEF and waterfall ladder racking lashing, lacing, and routing/design layout.
• Make OTDR, VFL, Fiber Scope mesurements
• Make Panduit MP300 and Brother P-Touch D610BT labels
• Create Near - Far Labels from Excel spreadsheet.
• Effectively, efficiently measure fiber distances from end to end
• Work with individual fiber(s) straw labels
• Running, routing and dress fiber
• Read and create CRL (Cable Run list).
• Complete fiber wreck out.
