Department of Statistics

The Department of Statistics at Oklahoma State University is seeking candidates for a Teaching Assistant Professor position to begin August 2024. Duties include undergraduate and graduate level teaching, coordination of graduate teaching assistants, assisting in program development & accreditation/assessment, and departmental service. This is a renewable appointment, with typical appointment terms of three years. There is the possibility of promotion to Associate Teaching Professor & Teaching Professor. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Experience with mentoring graduate teaching assistants is also desired.

The Department of Statistics is administratively located within the College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University and currently has eight full time faculty tenured/tenure track, two teaching assistant professors, one lecturer and 20-25 graduate students. The Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics, and an M.S. in Applied Statistics.

Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater in north-central Oklahoma, approximately 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The University has about 24,000 students, including 4,000 enrolled in the Graduate College.
