HIRING SALARY: $47,000.00 annually



HOURS: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday with some evening and weekend exceptions

MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Delinquency Prevention Specialist works within the Office of Prevention Services office in Leon and Gadsden County. This position will serve in the assigned areas of Leon and Gadsden Counties. The position coordinates and communicates with Office of Prevention Services management and stakeholders on concerns related to delinquency prevention and assists, when necessary, in carrying out duties and responsibilities of other Prevention Services activities. This position requires a flexible work schedule due to some weekends and after hours (evening) work.




Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:




  • Provides Prevention Services to youth and community events. Develops and maintains effective partnerships and affiliations with local community organizations.




  • Educates community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, to include researching and polices, and plans. Coordinates and participates in community outreach and engagement activities. Coordinates and/or facilitates training.




  • Performs routine visits to contracted Prevention programs. Provides technical assistance as needed to contracted providers, to ensure compliance with contracted terms and conditions. Provides written summary of input and feedback with contracted providers.




  • Coordinates and communicates with Office of Prevention Services management and stakeholders on concerns related to delinquency prevention. Assists, when necessary, in carrying out duties and responsibilities of other Prevention Services activities.




  • Drafts quarterly and monthly reports and submit on a timely basis. Evaluates data from outcome measures and requirements and make recommendations to management. Conducts annual property inventory.






MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or its equivalent and five years' related experience. A combination of education and experience may substitute for the required experience. Also, requires a valid driver's license.




KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Training plan, curriculum, and aid design and development. Implementation and facilitation of technical, operational, and/or specialty training events and program. Skilled in teaching and facilitation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Operating a personal computer and software skills. Ability to utilize of equipment, required for the position Assess training needs and objectives. Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate responsive programs and initiatives including training plans, curricula, and methodology. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks with high attention to detail; Computer skills, including proficiency with Power Point, Excel and Microsoft word. Determine work priorities. Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Solve problems and make decisions. Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to fiscal data, operational analysis activities. Develop and organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, proposals, and/or written documents. Communicate effectively. Work independently. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Establish and maintain effective working relationship with others. Plan, organize and coordinated work assignments. Research, analyze and interpret state and federal laws rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to utilize problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management activities. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials. Travel up to 2-4 hours away, over 50% of the time. This position must comply with the requirement set forth I Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, Prompt Payment compliance Law. Valid Driver's License.
