We seek an interdisciplinary teacher-scholar working in any time-period, whose teaching and research engages with major themes of Black or Africana Studies from a national, regional, global or transnational perspective. The teaching load may include a variety of general education, upper-division, hybrid and online classes, including independent studies and Honors contracts, as needed. Primary teaching and advising responsibilities are on the OSU-Stillwater campus; occasional teaching at the OSU-Tulsa campus is also a possibility.

OSU highlights access, excellence, and impact as central components of its land grant mission. In keeping with this focus, OSU and the Center for Africana Studies are committed to an open, diverse, and inclusive learning and working environment that honors the talents, respects the differences, and nurtures the growth and development of all. We seek to attract faculty and staff who share our commitment. Application materials should include: a CV; cover letter; graduate transcripts, teaching statement, evidence of successful teaching, and the contact information of three references. Receipt of recommendation letters from these three referees is expected within one week of contacting candidates for a preliminary Zoom interview. Evidence of successful teaching may include, but need not be limited to, student evaluations. To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by January 15th.
