College/Department Information


The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.



Job Summary


The Data Coordinator 2 provides research, grant, and administrative support for the Pediatric Hemophilia/Thrombosis Program in the Department of Pediatrics. Preparing and processing grant/contract applicants, sponsored accounts routing, budget management, preparing budget and research reports, data entry in the ATHNs database to meet specific grant funding requirements and assuring grant compliance. Responsible for accurate data entry, transmission, retrieval, and management of study data. Responsible for ensuring that all data is handled in accordance with HIPPA and in compliance with all other applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.



Responsibilities


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Accurately enter patient data into ATHNs database

  • Tracking and reporting adverse events

  • Learn electronic data entry process for required studies

  • Ensure data is accurately transmitted to sponsor in a timely manner

  • Ensure all deadlines are met and assist team with deadline reminders

  • Ensure that all data is handled in accordance with HIPPA and in compliance with all institutional policies and procedures

  • Assist Principal Investigator and team in implementation of data management policies and procedures

  • Assist with data collection, data entry, and data retrieval - respond to all inquiries in a timely manner

  • Prepare budget reports, reconcile grant accounts for the department, and ensure budget compliance

  • Prepare grant/study reports

  • Participate in projects and development of research protocols, while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant guidelines (state, federal, sponsor, etc.)

  • Assist Principal Investigator and team with industry sponsored clinical trials

  • Coordinate activities with respective campus departments to ensure successful study execution

  • Submission of research proposals/projects to Augusta University regulatory departments (sponsored accounts, IRB, grants, and contracts systems)

  • Manage team time and leave calendar and tracking

  • Manage team travel by initiating required paperwork and ensuring completion of the travel reimbursement process

  • Order program supplies

  • Assist with planning and execution of patient holiday party (if budgeted)

  • Assist with creating program newsletters, flyers, brochures

  • Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned





Required Qualifications


Associate's degree from an accredited college or university.



OR



Completion of two years of college level coursework with two years of related work experience.



Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


Ability to maintain confidentiality


Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills


Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases


Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills

**This position is 100% grant funded.**

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
