The Department of Physical Therapy at the College of Allied Health Sciences, part of Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia, is seeking an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor for a 12- month position as a core faculty member in the Doctor of the Physical Therapy program. The rank will be commensurate with experience. Our program boasts a long history of excellence and a large network of strong clinical relationships. The tenure status (on tenure track, tenure upon appointment, or not on tenure track) will be determined based on the qualifications of the final candidate and will be confirmed in the final offer along with position expectations.



Responsibilities


Teaching in one's area of expertise


Maintaining a productive scholarly agenda


Providing service as required by the department, college, or university.


Participation in a faculty practice environment is also available.



Required Qualifications


Terminal academic degree preferred (PhD/EdD) or equivalent from a USDE regionally accredited institution


License to practice physical therapy in the State of Georgia within 60 days of employment



Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training



Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.



Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.


Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

• Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;


• Evidence of ability as a teacher;


• Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;


• Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,


• Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits


This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.


The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.



Assistant Professor- early-level career as a faculty member 0-4 years experience is related field.



Associate Professor- mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.



Professor- senior-level career faculty member with 10 or more years of experience in related field to include five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.
