The Department of Statistics at Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for a tenure track position (open specialization) at the rank of Assistant Professor. Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics, excellent teaching skills and outstanding research or evident potential. Grant success or potential for, is highly regarded. A successful faculty candidate should be committed to quality instruction, be willing to mentor students, be prepared to develop an independent research program, to participate in all aspects of the department's activities, and to serve the profession.


The Statistics Department has a long tradition of applications-oriented programs and maintains continuing ties with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Experiment Station that can afford our graduate students' opportunities for practical training and offer faculty a consulting outlet. The department offers an undergraduate degree (BS in Statistics) and graduate degrees (MS, Ph.D. in Statistics, and MS in Applied Statistics).


OSU is Oklahoma's land grant university and houses the only statistics department in the state of Oklahoma. The University enrolls more than 24,000 students from all 50 states and more than 120 countries. over 4,000 of them are pursuing graduate or professional degrees. Stillwater, a great place to live and raise a family (one of the top 100 small cities in the 2010 Forbes ranking and No.8 best college town in the 2014 Forbes ranking), is located in north-central Oklahoma about 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
