Laboratory ManagerTNPRC - Microbiology

Location: Covington, LA

Summary

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the VCIPS Core Laboratory, which is housed in both BSL-2 and BSL-3 facilities: Directs the administrative, operational, personnel, customer service, financial and programmatic functions. Coordinates technical functions with technical teams. Processes and manages all aspects of the research projects conducted in the laboratory. Plans, prepares, and monitors equipment, operations, and personnel budgets for the department. Ensures that laboratory complies with regulatory guidelines. Keeps abreast of regulatory changes, ensure Quality Assurance and safety compliance with federal regulations and certifying agencies.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in a biological science and ten years of directly related experience including three years of supervisory experience.* Experience with experimental procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree in a biological science and five years of directly related experience including two years of supervisory experience.* Experience with NIH funded grants and contract studies.
