Job Description Summary
This position involves data collection and analysis in the research lab of Professor Joseph Kable. The research specialist assists in both research and administrative activities. Research responsibilities may include recruiting participants, designing and preparing experimental materials, and collecting and analyzing data for behavioral, neurostimulation and neuroimaging experiments. Administrative responsibilities may include maintaining organization of lab data files including IRB and other human subjects compliance, managing lab finances such as office purchases and subject payments, and supervising undergraduate work study students.

DUTIES:
The Kable laboratory in the Department of Psychology, University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time research specialist. The lab uses techniques from social and cognitive neuroscience and experimental economics to investigate decision processes and their neurophysiological mechanisms in humans. The holder of this position will be actively involved in conducting research in the lab, including recruiting participants, preparing experimental materials, and collecting and analyzing data for behavioral, neurostimulation and neuroimaging experiments. Research specialist will also be responsible for administrative activities related to the lab's research, such as managing purchases, managing IRB records, coordinating project meetings, and supervising undergraduate research assistants. This position would be ideal for a recent graduate looking for additional research experience and offers the opportunity to be involved in a vibrant and active laboratory. The position would ideally start in summer of 2024.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with some background in psychology, neuroscience, math/computer science or related fields, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work flexibly and learn a wide range of new skills, and the enthusiasm and motivation to solve problems independently.
Preferred: Familiarity with statistics, programming skills, and previous research experience are all highly desirable.
