Job Title:Research Technician

The Psychology Department, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Research Technician performs cognitive psychology research on memory, perception, and reaction time; coordinates the collection, processing, and reporting of data and assists in evaluating the validity of test data obtained; assists in the execution of designated experiments, including the procurement of space, supplies, and related equipment; coordinates the coding and editing of assessment measures or questionnaires; contacts subjects to arrange for their participation in various study sessions; organizes and prepares data for analysis; applies standard methodologies and assists in the development and revision of routine operating procedures, including means of organizing raw data; assists in judging the validity of data obtained and recommends additional modifications; performs literature searches on specified topics; establishes relationships with new recruitment partners through partnering with Columbus area senior centers, churches, and other organizations; travels by car throughout the workday to multiple work sites off-campus. Research focuses on decision making in aging, and participants include college students at main OSU campus, as well as older adults at area senior centers and libraries, and adults with memory disorders at OSU's Wexner Medical Center.



Minimum Education Required:


Bachelor's Degree




Minimum Qualifications:


1 year of relevant experience required



Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $13.89 - $18.51. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
