The Researcher is responsible for, but limited to, the following duties as it pertains to research and project management:
Responsible for generating and implementing new ideas and concepts related to plastic alternatives; conduct detailed and complex research as an expert in all aspects of plastic alternatives and publish results; responsible for the data generation, analysis and presentation generated on bioplastic related projects; write and edit progress and technical reports associated to bioplastics research; write grants to federal agencies, industry and foundation related to plastic alternatives; Work closely with OSU and external colleagues to advance research in plastic alternatives; Work on intellectual property emanating from research in Vodovotz/Campanella labs conducted on plastic alternatives; work with relevant instrumentation both in the Vodovotz/Campanella labs, assure their working order, train others, optimize methodology; assist with selecting and mentoring undergraduate students, guiding their research, training on instrumentation, helping in data analysis and interpretation, and helping with their FoodSURE proposals and final reports and papers.
Minimum Qualifications Required
PhD in material science and engineering, food engineering or equivalent field or equivalent experience and 5-6 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral work in bioplastics; 6-8 years of relevant experience.

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
