The Project Engineer will oversee all engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality. Prepares, schedules, coordinates, and monitors assigned engineering projects, complying with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor all assigned projects
Review engineering deliverables; initiate appropriate corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle
Communicate effectively during daily interactions with project team members understanding their needs and requirements
Maintain quality control in every area (budget, scheduling, planning, personnel performance, team dynamics)
Conduct regular meetings to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner.
Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.
Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
Document and report project progress to stakeholders.
Participates in daily/weekly shift communication meetings to review line performance (safety, productivity, scrap, customer concerns, 6S). Discuss and initiate countermeasures for off-target performance.
Follow-up on assembly / operational needs and concerns.
Participates in continuous improvement activities to improve products, address end of life issues, reduce costs, improve efficiencies & quality utilizing lean / six sigma principles. Coordinates problem solving sessions to continuously improve operational performance when appropriate.
Provides production assembly support as necessary with respect to work instructions, assembly process related issues, supplied part issues, and in resolution of CAPA's stemming from customer complaints.
Collaborate with New Product Development team members for launch of new products
Manages engineering change notices related to assigned production assembly lines.
Write, maintain and train on work instructions related to assigned production assembly lines.
Create and maintain product and shipping labels related to assigned production assembly lines.
Develop new tooling and test procedures for assembly and supplier processes.
Prepare and participate in team presentations.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related field..
3-5 Years of Manufacturing/Design Experience preferred. Knowledge and experience of a regulated industry such as medical or pharmaceutical also preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or other specialized certification a plus.
Green Belt in Six Sigma or Certified Lean Profession preferred; Six Sigma Black Belt a plus.
Ability to problem solve, read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, use Microsoft-related computer programs, effectively communicate
in verbal and written form, work with and train others, use of Creo (CAD) software systems preferred.
Understanding of ISO 13485:2016 standard
Organization and problem-solving skills
Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including spreadsheets
Experience with inventory control and process improvement
Strong time management and analytical skills
Firm understanding of complex mathematical concepts
Proven leadership skills
Strong communication skills.

Salary Minimum: $70,000
