Job Description:

The Assembler at Johnson Controls is responsible for assembling parts to specification. This role involves identifying the correct parts using specification sheets and blueprints, assembling parts according to specifications, installing hardware and purchased components, insulating panels as per specifications, completing necessary paperwork, and utilizing various tools such as a rivet gun, air gun, knife, welding tools, and other hand tools. The Assembler also assists colleagues in their duties and is involved in transporting shipments using a bridge crane or hoist from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Identify proper parts for assemblies by reading specification sheets and blueprints.
  • Assemble parts according to specifications.
  • Install hardware and purchased parts into assemblies per specification.
  • Insulate panels as described on specification sheets.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork related to the assembly process.
  • Utilize tools like a rivet gun, air gun, knife, welding tools, and other hand tools for duties.
  • Assist others in the performance of their duties.
  • Transport shipments using a bridge crane or hoist from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areas.

Physical Requirements 

  • Occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
  • Constant standing.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Occasional bending, climbing, and crawling.
  • Frequent reaching and grasping.
  • Occasional sitting and connecting.
  • Frequent pulling.
  • Vision corrected to 20/20.
  • Frequent handling of equipment and materials.

Compensation

$17.86 per hour

Shift

2nd shift- From 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday.
