Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Lead Writer and Editor in our Scottsdale, AZ office. The Lead Writer and Editor will be responsible for managing a team of writers and editors, coordinating editorial operations, and overseeing content creation and publishing across our digital platforms on ClassicCars.com, AutoHunter.com and The ClassicCars.com Journal. The Lead Writer and Editor will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and quality, and will drive traffic to our websites through innovative content and digital strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Write thorough and unbiased vehicle descriptions for auction listings based on the information provided by the consignor.
  • Oversee small group of contract writers.
  • Edit vehicle descriptions written by contract writers.
  • Research vehicle details if sufficient data has not been provided by the consignor.
  • Proficient technology skills, including MS Office.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role managing editorial teams in a fast-paced digital environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating, editing, and publishing quality digital content across a variety of platforms, including web and social media
  • APA Style experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Passion for automotive industry and knowledge of classic and collector vehicles is preferred
  • Experience in managing budgets and resources is a plus
  • An eye for compelling visual content (combining photos and videos with your writing).
