Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for a Direct Hire position with a client in the Aerospace and Defense industry located in Chandler, AZ. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer from a regulated industry and have experience working with Machining Metal components, MRB (Material Review Board) and COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) along with strong leadership experiences. Project Management experience is a huge plus.
Pay/Salary Range: $100,000/yr. - $110,000/yr.
Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for driving continuous process improvement in the manufacturing process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan, direct, and coordinate all quality activities to assure optimum quality in all products manufactured and assembled within a work cell. • Coordinate all quality activities and work with design engineering, manufacturing, planning and other disciplines to ensure the quality of the product. • Investigate internal and external quality concerns, and lead cross functional teams to determine root cause, and implement permanent corrective actions. • Inspect and review lot paperwork for completeness and correctness. • Analyze work instructions and procedures for errors and potential failure points. • Find innovative ways to improve quality through new process controls. • Candidate must be very high energy, and able to keep up with a fast-paced environment. The position requires the majority time to be spent working in the assembly area, with minimal time at a desk.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Leadership experience • Project Management experience is a plus. • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, or in lieu of degree equivalent experience directly related to work environment may be considered. • Minimum of 3-7 years' experience in manufacturing environment • Proficient in Word, Excel, and statistical software • Experience in ordinance and use of energetic materials, powders/propellants is a strong plus • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to present the data in reports to support investigation conclusions. • Strong oral and written communication skills • Training and demonstrated competency with APQP tools (i.e. D/PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP) • Experience with lean manufacturing is a strong plus. • Electronics experience of IPC-610 and JSTD 001 certification preferred.
