The Maintenance Manager is a hands-on position responsible for technical direction and leadership to the maintenance group and supporting functions. Role ensures equipment is running to its maximum efficiency and output; including facilities management, housekeeping and safety activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities: • Maintenance & Building Management: Provide hands-on coordination with scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing work of maintenance personnel and outside vendors. • Restorative Maintenance/Housekeeping: Coordinate MIL's Building and Equipment Restoration Program in which continuously addresses and aggressively satisfies detailed restorative efforts (painting, overhauling, cleaning etc.) Maintain program schedule and allocate resources to pro-actively ensure building and equipment surfaces and components are properly treated and cared for in response to environmental and standard degradation/wear. • Provide employees timely, candid and constructive feedback; train and develop employees on technical maintenance skill sets and capabilities to their full potential; provide challenging opportunities that promote continuous improvement and enhance employee career growth; ensure MIL's standards of customer service, quality, professionalism and commitment are met. • Operation, installation, repair, maintenance, housekeeping/custodial and continuous improvement of facilities and equipment • Troubleshoot and proactively address maintenance issues and requests to ensure optimal equipment/process performance and minimize downtime. • Maintain a scheduling and prioritization system in which maintenance tasks are assigned a priority value within and between departments and scope of task, timeframe to completion and specific delegations are identified. System must be continuously updated and easily accessible for management review. • Work with departments requiring emergency service or equipment modifications in order to meet customer commitments. • Oversee and participate in MIL's 24/7 Emergency On-Call Program. • Assist with the coordination of building projects including qualifying applicable vendors and equipment, allocating resources, scheduling and enforcing completion timelines etc. • Ensure compliance with building, equipment and safety standards & regulations. • Oversee the preventative maintenance program and ensure comprehensive inclusion and effectively scheduled maintenance of applicable company equipment and facilities • Identify and implement improvements to further streamline efficiencies and cost savings • Oversee organizational projects such as inventory management and utilization of 5S.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • PC literate with a thorough understanding of MIL's custom production software, AMMS Maintenance software and Microsoft Office applications • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, electronics - PLC schematics, compressors, boilers, rectifiers, chillers, • Safety committee and/or compliance experience w/ regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA etc.) a plus. • Must be a quality focused, team-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Job Requirements: • BS degree or related fieldwork experience. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree. • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance and/or Facilities Manager in an industrial or manufacturing setting. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with problem solving / trouble shootings skills are essential. • Demonstrated leadership abilities and interpersonal skills • Must be proficient in standard computer applications including Excel and PowerPoint. • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills - ability to balance and prioritize several projects simultaneously. • Individual must be authorized to work in the U.S. under one of the following criteria: 1. A citizen of the United States, 2. A lawful permanent resident, 3. A non-citizen National of the United States.
Reports: The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations and interface with the Management and Supervisory staff.
Hours: Start times may vary depending on position and department; must be flexible to work overtime and additional hours as needed to support the department in times of increased demand.
