Payroll Administrator

Position located in Fremont, CA. - Remote option not available.

Pay Range: $28 - $30 per hour (depending on relevant experience)

Job Location: Fremont, CA

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

This key role in the Payroll/ Human Resources department will be responsible for performing all payroll administration and payroll reporting functions for the organization including being responsible for payroll from start to finish for their assigned areas of responsibility. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this person will play a key role in performing all aspects of the payroll process including providing review and oversight of the performance of complex payroll and tax computation, audit, and additional duties related to the issuance of regular and supplemental payroll for all locations assigned. As well as managing all reporting and information entered and coming out of the payroll system. As well as oversight of assigned entity new hires processing (ensuring accuracy of data and documentation compliance). This role will perform all other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll in an efficient and accurate manner. Meeting the deadlines requires
  • Keeps abreast of payroll related issues and laws including wage and hour rules and regulations on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicating closely with the Human Resources Team for all compensation related matters.
  • Calculate and process retroactive salary increases.
  • Conduct consistent accurate audits on payroll, employee payroll records, employee payroll tax records, and all other payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with both state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll system and time keeping system to make sure employee records are accurate.
  • Clearly communicate expectations and updates to staff at all levels across the company in a timely manner.
  • Process all employment verifications within guidelines of company policies.
  • Process and manage all wage orders that come in for employees within the defined timelines.
  • Run, manage, and communicate all payroll related reports by deadlines provided by management.
  • Coach and counsel staff across the company on payroll matters as needed.
  • All other payroll related projects assigned by Payroll Manager and VP of Human Resources.

Qualifications Requirements
  • Minimum of a BS Degree in Business with emphasis in Payroll related field or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of Payroll experience handling payroll for between 900-1300 employees.
  • Working with hourly individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a must.
  • Experience working with Payroll Systems: Paylocity a strong plus.
  • Must be able to work in an extremely confidential environment.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision and be able to work quickly with extremely.
  • High accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Attendance.
