Job Title: Lead Computer Operator

Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite daily with rotating shifts)

Duration: Immediate - 12/20/24 with possible conversion

Rate: $40

Overview:

The Lead Computer Operator role is pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operations and staff management within our dynamic IT department. This position demands a versatile skill set, including experience in mainframe operations, troubleshooting, and effective team leadership. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth execution of computer systems operations and provide essential support in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment.

Duties:

• 30% Train, motivate, and guide Computer Operations staff. Oversee staff work, provide management with performance feedback.
• 20% Manage daily activities, solve problems, and handle change management issues. Advise junior Operators on complex scheduling conflicts and system malfunctions.
• 20% Operate and monitor computer systems, ensuring timely completion of batch cycles. Oversee production schedules and response times.
• 10% Identify, monitor, and diagnose system problems, initiate corrective action. Troubleshoot data center equipment issues.
• 10% Compile reports on computer operations, evaluate equipment efficiency.
• 10% Collaborate with IT groups to meet service objectives, recommend quality improvements. Ensure smooth transition of work between shifts.

Skills and Abilities:

• Essential: Maintains tape libraries, monitors computing platforms, notifies customers of issues, operates console systems, troubleshoots computing platforms.
• Additional: Mainframe Experience, ServiceNow, Splunk, JES2/MVS, TIVOLI, JCL, SDSF, SYSLOG, Printer commands, Storage Administration, Windows, Linux, Network understanding.

Preferred Experience:

• Storage Administration, Mainframe, Windows, Linux, Network knowledge.
• Required Software and Tools: Knowledge of console systems, Microsoft Office, Workday.

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required Work Experience: 5 years in computer systems operation and support.

• English: Read, Write, Speak

• Schedule Notes: Onsite daily in Seattle, WA, and Northern VA with rotating shifts
