Job Description:

Position Overview

The Program Management Specialist is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of the various HDUSA programs, or portions of programs, products, and strategic initiatives. In addition, the Program Management Specialist assists with the identification and capture of new HDUSA programs and opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supports the management, oversight and execution of key deliverables, actions, tasks and assignments regarding cost, schedule, quality and programmatic requirements for HDUSA programs.
• Supports collaboration with other Cross-Functional Team members both internal and external to HDUSA to successfully execute programmatic requirements and achieve milestones.
• Supports management of major subcontracts and other supplier relationships through cost and schedule control and reporting, deliverable coordination and meeting management.
• Supports proposal development for defense contracts.
• Supports contract and subcontract development, negotiation and definitization.
• Supports collection and management of supplier data, such as on-boarding documentation, non-disclosure agreements, quality and security certifications, and import/export paperwork.
• Must be able to multi-task and execute multiple actions across various functional areas simultaneously.
• Exhibits critical thinking and analytical ability by conducting data analysis and independent research to solve problems or provide recommendations.
• Takes proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery and develops alternative plans or courses of action as required.
• May communicate with customers/clients and suppliers to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules and budgets, and discuss any program problems.
• Ensures that customers and/or clients are regularly informed of the status of the program.
• Regularly communicates with management regarding the program's status and any problems or potential problems, including supporting risk and opportunity management.
• Forecasts potential schedule delays or budget overruns and develops alternate plans.
• Support research and development of potential new suppliers through participation in conferences and other supplier events, meetings and visits, including some travel.
• May evaluate and review design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Assists with the control of expenditures within limitations of program budget.
• Maintain timing chart.
• Prepares progress program reports and updates to management on a timely basis.
• Ability to develop and execute customer presentations and interface.
• Assists with the integration of technical activities and products.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Experience
• Fluent in Korean and English is required
• At least three (3) years of industry-related experience
• Some experience performing program management related tasks required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including schedule applications like Microsoft Project or OpenPlan.
• Familiarity with the principles of Earned Value Management.
• Understanding of US Defense Industry landscape.

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required.
• MBA preferred.

Special Knowledge / Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Professional experience in program management roles.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use hands to finger, handle, and feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and have adequate mobility to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Ability to travel.

This job position may include access to controlled information or technology covered under applicable U.S. export control laws.
