JOB DESCRIPTION



Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer for a long term project at a client site in the Pittsburg, PA area. We need a seasoned specialist with a comprehensive understanding of engineering solutions as they relate to a major chemical complex.

This position will require frequent movement, including trips around the facility for site surveys to include traversing stairs and ladders.

Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required. Local candidates preferred, as there is no per diem or relocation available.




RESPONSIBILITIES



Client Relationship

  • Interfaces with client operations and technical personnel as required
  • Coordination of site data gathering including drawings, specifications, etc.
Safety & Quality
  • Assist with promoting the Safety Goals of the Client, Company, and the Project
  • Assist with implementing Project Execution Plans
  • Ensure the use of approved work processes, procedures and tools
Project Execution
  • Assist with technical deliverables for the project
  • Assist with scope and estimate preparation
  • Assist with development of change orders
  • Assist with review of design documents, data sheets and drawings
  • Support the project schedule requirements; assist with establishing design priorities
  • Update Action Item List
  • Interface with Construction as needed
Project Information & Communication
  • Assist with Design Discipline interface with Project Management
  • Assist with providing design disciplines with required information
  • Assist with communication within the project team and design disciplines





QUALIFICATIONS



  • Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with technical issues and providing solutions (with limited support from discipline engineers)
  • Ability to work in a plant environment
