Overview:

Join one of the most reputable Industrial General Contractor's in the Chicagoland area as a Project Coordinator. My client is a Privately Owned and Operated middle market Industrial/Commercial general contractor originally founded 10+ years ago

This position will report to the Estimating and Project Management department and reports directly to the Preconstruction Manager or Sr Project Manager. The successful candidate will assist in the timely and accurate completion of construction proposals, administration, RFIs, submittals and compliance documents. They will be responsible for gathering, tracking, inputting, and compiling information while coordinating with Project Managers, Subcontractors, Clients & Suppliers. The candidate will manage 10-15 active construction projects/bids at any given time and keep a detailed bid tracking log. They must ensure that all proposal documents are complete and accurate to enable the estimating team to submit quality proposals on time. The Construction Project Coordinator will collect all relevant documents and information such as prequalification applications, technical proposals, execution plans, past performance, bid bonds, site visits, pricing, team member profiles, licenses, etc.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, organization, administrative, and attention-to-detail skills. They should also be flexible and a team player capable of managing their own time to meet interim milestones and final deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with some relevant work experience who is interested in expanding their knowledge of proposal writing and preconstruction in the Commercial/Industrial Construction market. There will be opportunities for advancement within the organization.

The primary responsibilities of this role include supporting management in bid submission and estimating, reviewing front end bid documents, developing RFIs, communicating with other team members to obtain information required for proposals, tracking and maintaining construction-related data, deconstructing RFP documents, and attending client site visits to document existing conditions. The successful candidate may also perform project field support to include site supervision and quality control, as needed.

Requirements
  • Must have minimum 2 years of estimating, construction administration, or coordination experience with a general contractor, construction manager or subcontractor
  • Experience with running small to medium size projects in the construction industry
  • Undergraduate degree in construction field a plus
  • Experience managing a team is a plus
  • Experience with ground up projects
  • Good tenure
  • Flexible personality
  • Strong software and technology skills is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary ranging from $60,000-$90,000 based on experience
  • Bonus potential - 10% is typical but can be higher
