Our client, a leading CPG company in Chicago, is looking for an analytical self-starter to support their purchasing team. As a Material Analyst, you will be reviewing and maintaining proper inventory levels to ensure delivery on time for all customer orders. This position will include aspects of inventory management, supply chain and operations.
Material Analyst Responsibilities:
Oversee requisition to purchase order workflow
Manage order reception and supplier relationships
Plan materials for operational needs
Reconcile procurement-related invoices
Efficiently handle self-billing processes
Adapt to lead-time changes for supply chain efficiency
Execute bid-file uploads from vendors
Analyze data and make recommendations
Monitor variances and suggest process improvements
Participate in planning reviews and align data
Ensure accurate data input to MRP/IT systems
Monitor and report on inventory levels and trends
Create detailed inventory reports for analysis
Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Material Analyst Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in business or related field or an MBA
A minimum of 1 year of experience in material planning and analysis
Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
Ability to undertake complex analysis to create information and to interpret data and trends
Excellent documentation skills
Experience or knowledge of statistics, forecasting and management information methods and techniques
Proven IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
