Our client, a disruptive, global CPG company, is looking to hire a Strategic Buyer. This fast-growing company is looking for a driven, quick learner to implement processes and procedures for their planning strategy.
Strategic Buyer Responsibilities:
Engage in negotiations with established vendors to secure both standard inventory items and new products, ensuring alignment with factory and marketing production requirements
Generate purchase orders for products and services using SAP, contributing to the support of manufacturing needs
Collaborate closely with production/factory personnel to anticipate and forecast product requirements
Coordinate with suppliers and warehouses to guarantee the timely delivery of products and services
Validate the accurate execution of orders and align deliveries with order specifications
Create and analyze records and data pertaining to product quality and on-time delivery
Monitor deliverables from cross-functional groups (e.g., Brand, packaging graphics) to ensure adherence to packaging order lead times
Communicate crucial packaging order deadlines to the cross-functional team
Work collaboratively with Accounts Payable, suppliers and warehousing to address invoicing and Goods Receipt issues
Formulate and distribute RFP/RFQs to suppliers and analyze the outcomes for informed decision-making
Conduct negotiations for contracts related to rentals, services and other associated areas
Strategic Buyer Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in business or a related field
Familiarity with purchasing processes
2-5 years of purchasing experience
Experience with multiple vendors in the industrial sector
Familiarity with purchasing software and systems
Preferably, knowledge of SAP purchase order process
Proficiency in Excel
